We’re excited to offer two eCornell professional certificate scholarships. This scholarship provides a unique opportunity to access one of eCornell's 150+ online professional certificate programs, designed to advance your skills and career in a wide range of disciplines, from leadership and marketing to diversity and inclusion.

Why This Scholarship Matters

This scholarship represents more than just professional development. It’s a chance to break barriers, build bridges, and create a community where LGBTQIA2S+ individuals can thrive in inclusive workplaces.

who should apply?

This scholarship is for individuals who:

  • Identify as part of the LGBTQIA2S+ community or are an allied individual.

  • Are 18 years or older.

  • Dane County Resident.

  • Have a passion for advancing their professional skills and a desire to grow in their career.

  • Are committed to leveraging this education to make an impact in their community and professional life.

application process

  1. Submit an online application, including:
     

    • A personal statement. Tell us about yourself and why this scholarship is important for your future goals. Include some of the certificates you may be interested in and why they would benefit you.  

    • One letter of reference from a professional, mentor, or educator who can speak to your potential and commitment to professional growth.
       

  2. Interview: Selected applicants may be invited for a brief interview with the scholarship committee.
     

  3. Selection Notification: Successful applicants will be contacted via email with details on how to begin their journey with eCornell.

your commitment

As a recipient, you will:

​

  • Select and complete a professional certificate program with eCornell by the scholarship deadline of December 31, 2025. [Most certificates are [4] two-week courses].
     

  • Allow the OPEN Foundation and eCornell to share your journey on social media. This includes a brief quote and photo during the scholarship period, highlighting your experience and why this opportunity is meaningful to you.
     

  • Upon completion, provide a testimonial and reflection on how the scholarship has impacted your professional development, which will be shared on our platforms to inspire future applicants.

Recipients will be asked to:

​

  • Submit a testimonial reflecting on their experience with the eCornell program.
     

  • Share how the scholarship helped advance their career.
     

  • Remain involved with the OPEN Foundation as alumni, helping future cohorts succeed.
